Projects & Teams

Update: New Developments:
Two new websites are being created, each respective to teams:
1) "Zeitgeist Media Project" [Creative/Education Team]
2) "From Earth to Venus" - Planetary Redesign [Creative team]

-"The Zeitgeist Media Project" will be a communication hub for Artists/Communicators who would wish to work together in some form of media expression or another. The goal is to create more works which address any and all aspects of the issues we are concerned with.

-"From Earth to Venus" will be a unique project which will allow for a virtual redesign of our planet. Imagine for a moment if we had the option of instantly implementing a global resource based economy without the establishment barriers... what if we could update our world technologically to present day knowledge- NOW. How would you do it? This presents a wonderful thought exercise and we hope 'engineers' and 'social planners' will participate in the exciting, theoretically idea. The Goal: Maximum Abundance through Sustainability; Peak efficiency. More on this soon.

As far as the Activism Team, we are going to begin to focus on pertinent concerns, from military issues, to rising corporate issues surrounding food productions and standardization; to the issues around internet freedom; along with defending the movement against defamation. It is important for us to not only present our information, but defend it.

Also, The Lecture Team, a sub-team of the Communications Team, which has a relevance to the Regional Chapters, will slowly be engaged to find a means by which to proceed. This will work through larger order event planning ideas.

Welcome to the Projects Page. This developing page will deal with "Teams" that work in certain ways to spread awareness and further development. As of now, the most important team is the "Communications" team and this is going to be our initial focus overall. We would hope that all of you will participate in this, for our social effect is really only as good as our numbers and communication. If you are new to this site, please join the Main Database on the home page before joining any of the Teams. This way we can keep track of total participation.

HOW THIS WORKS:
Under "About the teams below" are "JOIN HERE" links which will take you to the respetive "Community". Once you join the Community Team, then you will have access to the "Projects Catergory" on the Forum for sharing ideas. As of now, this page (Projects Page) will be the home base for "Active Projects", while it will also be mirrored in the Community Section as well.

ABOUT THE TEAMS:

COMMUNICATIONS TEAM: [ JOIN HERE ]
The "Communications Team" is currently the most important. We encourage all members to do their part in spreading information about The Zeitgeist Movement. We cannot proceed with anything effective unless we have the support of many people in many countries.

This Team currently consists of the following Sub-Teams:
  • Education Sub-Team:
The "Education" Sub-Team is dedicated to spreading awareness to anyone and everyone. Strategically, it is best if we contact major media personalities and larger organizations in the hope that we become recognized and supported by the third party organization/ personality. However, email campaigns, Internet media, radio call ins, giving out DVDs and any other form of promotion is helpful.
The central tools (ebook/dvds) for this Sub-Team can be found on the TOOL KIT page.
  • Activism Sub-Team:
  • The "Activism" Sub-Team is dedicated to raising awareness, creating responses to the many corrupt byproducts of the monetary system, including oppressive legislation, corrupt business practices, environmental issues, corporatocracy collusion, along with countering fallacious accusations regarding The Movement in the media. This team is critical for keeping everyone aware of what is going on in the world, while also constantly exposing the Financial System for what it is.
  • Lecture Circuit Sub-Team:
The "Lecture Circuit" Sub-Team is a network of dedicated persons who are informed and committed enough to personally create physical, non-profit lecture/media events in their area or throughout the world. Eventually, we hope to have 100s of people, acting as representatives of the Movement Worldwide, who can communicate well and present the full spectrum of information in a professional way to a live audience.
Please see the 2009 New York City ZDAY event video for a frame of reference.

  • Linguistic Sub-Team:
The "Linguistic" Sub-Team's primary goal is to make the movement's vast resources, media and documentation, such as "Zeitgeist: Addendum" and "The Venus Project" website, readily available to all the world's people.  To accomplish this task, we need a diverse group of individuals from every nation to transcribe, proofread and translate this material into all known languages. The team has a valuable collection of tools at it's disposal and an effective work flow to provide accuracy, consistency and comprehensibility in everything we present.  Every book, video, radio show, interview and website falls into the Linguistic Team's domain for review, making it a critical component within the movement. Through this work, we hope to reach the hearts and minds of billions of people across the world.  Please visit the Linguistic Team wiki section for more information.

CREATIVE TEAM: [ JOIN HERE ]
The "Creative Team" is dedicated to researching and developing new ideas for the sake of improving civilization as a whole. Following the tenets of The Zeitgeist Movement, we want to consider innovations that help preserve the environment, optimize resource usage, and create the highest quality inventions and systems possible. Money is no issue. This team is simply there to consider what "could be". Ideas for social organization and education are also welcome, along with anything that could be thought of that might make our society more optimized and responsible.
  • Material Innovations Sub-Team:
The "Material Innovations" Sub-Team is dedicated to considering physical processes and invention. For instance, how do we improve our transportation vehicles and make them safe, fast and clean? How do we design a home heating system in the most optimized way? How can we design a computer so the enclosure can function for a generation, while the component parts are easily updated so arbitrary multiplicity is reduced? This Sub-Team is about optimizing 'singular' inventions. However, it's partner The - "Social Innovations" Sub-Team deals with the larger order systems which this Team might fit their concepts into.
  • Social Innovations Sub-Team: The "Social Innovations" Sub-Team is about creative thought in regard to broad social designs, such as infrastructure, planetary organization, city systems and other forms of larger order engineering. The central awareness is a "Systems" Approach where there is an integration of processes. This Sub-Team could consider the most optimized infrastructure for goods and service distribution in a Resource Based Economy, for example.
  • Technology Sub-Team: This "Technology Sub-Team" is for those who have a background in scientific disciplines which could be related to social development within a Resource Based Economy. This includes Robotics, Software Engineering, Physics, City Planning, Structural Engineering and the like. Concepts from the "Creative Team" will eventually lead to evaluation by the "Technology Team", to figure out what is actually possible. At this stage, this team does not have the resources to to move forward with materialization, as this movement is in its infancy. However, as things progress, scientists and engineers in this team, coupled with the Creative team, will eventually construct the "Interdicplinary Teams", as noted in the Orientation Guide. This is an initial step to create a personal database and consider new ideas.

    Other examples:
Automation and Robotics: A central understanding of Automation and Robotics is key to the foundation of a Resource Based Economy. Highly efficient Cybernated Machines is what will create the new paradigm we seek to relieve people of drudgery and economic slavery. This is for anyone who has a background in such mediums and wishes to provide insight into the current state of technology in this regard, along with views on possibilities and designs.
Programming: The "Programming" Sub-Team will work with ideas related to systems operations. For instance, we need to begin deliberate development on The Central Historical Data Program, and such AI, which can begin to create 'complex associations' and thus give feedback to our proposals, so we can appropriately 'arrive at decisions' based on all available information. Please refer to The Orientation Guide regarding this point if you are unfamiliar.
Industrial Design : The "Industrial Design" Sub-Team relates to system designs which are large and vast, such as Intercontinental Travel; Renewable energy source locations/possibilities and strategies for implementation; Production Facilities for goods, Cities, along with Automated Delivery Systems, etc.

Get Jacque Fresco back on Larry King:
Details: As some of you might know, Jacque was on Larry King about four times, 30 years ago. King was very open back then and let Jacque speak his mind. We feel that if an email/phone/package campaign requesting Mr. Fresco's
reappearance on the show was initiated, we might be able to get him back on. This is tough because there is no direct means to do this, so we must go through his website.

Inform other groups which have a relationship to activism of our work.
Greenpeace and the ACLU are good places to start, for Greenpeace still ignores
the foundational detriments of the monetary system, while the ACLU also
does not acknowledge the root of the problems. Send them the Guide.

A typical email might be something like this:(attach the Orientation Guide!)
Dear ___,

My name is _____ and I represent a social organization with currently
400,000 members called "The Zeitgeist Movement". Based on our current growth rate, we expect to have well over 1 million members by 2010, conservatively, and we are now active in over 63 countries.

The goal of our movement is to address the true foundational causes that are generating the economic/ecological/ethical problems we see in the world today. In turn, we wish to reorient society itself in a way that not only overcomes the problems, but rather the problems will have no basis to begin with. In order to do so, we must all address the one thing that no one seems to have the courage to talk about- and that is the socio-economic system itself.
Attached to this email is our 83 Page Orientation Guide. Please review it when you can, for it carefully
breaks down what the true foundational causes of the world's dominant problems today are, while also describing the most important economic issue to date (which no one is talking about) and that is the collision course which will stop the "free-market" as we know it - known as "Technological Unemployment". If you are unfamiliar with this reality, please review that section of the manual.
Also, here is a link to a review of our 2009 activist day, covered by the New York Times: http://www.nytimes.com/2009/03/17/nyregion/17zeitgeist.html?_r=1
I hope this email finds you well and thank you kindly for your time.

Sincerely,
___

(2)COMMUNICATIONS TEAM:
  • ACTIVISM SUB-TEAM PROJECTS:

Help keep the Community up to date on current issues:
The News Section of the Forum is for important current issues/reports related to the advent of (1)new, socially helpful technology, (2)along with pointing of the continued corruption of the Monetary system. If you see news regarding anything related to our Movement, in this regard please inform your fellow members. (We are working to have a dedicated forum news subcategory for this.)

Engage others who are in Protest and inform them about us:
As of the time of this writing, European protests are occurring with slogan like "Abolish money" and "End capitalism". This is powerful and if you can get int ouch with protest leader and inform them of our movement, please do so. Also, if you are in an area where a protest is occurring please pass out DVD of Addendum/The Orientation Video and and perhaps text reductions of the Orientation Guide.
